He acts less humane then the other doctors which i love. He's what a timelord should. He also takes the crown for most humorous in my opinion. The very first line he mutters in series 5 is "Can i have an apple?"  A hilarious montage in which he keeps shunning different foods only to side with Fish fingers in custard follows this. There are also times where he randomly makes remarks that are completely missable if you don't pay attention. . His doctor actually sounds like a man who has a massive brain and can't control his thoughts.

And here's where i stand with the series characters today. Matt Smith (The doctor). Any fan of the show knows that david Tennant was an incredibly, if not, impossible act to follow. Matt Smith did the impossible. He created a new image of the doctor that was nothing like the 10th. Where as Tennant's doctor was young, zany and brilliant, matt Smith's doctor is much more quiet, collected, and subtle. I personally believe resume he did a fantastic job portraying the doctor, and that's because i'm a major fan of his acting style. He makes so many subtle movements like hand gestures, and facial expressions that make him seem so lively, and animated despite appearing to be simpler. His doctor presents himself as a 900-year-old man far better then the past two actors. He's also got that alien quality to him. He doesn't come off as a human, but rather an alien one who knows about more then just planet earth and human nature.

It was all powered by a spectacular story arc by moffat involving cracks in the skin of the universe and the power writing of remembering who you love. Does it sound corny? Just watch the show and let Steven Moffat prove you wrong. His incredible writing skill turns any situation that would normally seem absurd, and turn it into something that feels fantastic. I won't spoil anymore, suffice it say that the ending of the series is spectacular. If anyone wants to try out the show, i suggest they start with season. It felt like a fresh new start after the roller coaster that was the russel. Davies Era (Which i was still a very big fan of). One of the best scenes of the whole show.

Who's bag of wonderful stories. Both of these in particular derive from the mind of the brilliant Steven Moffat, my personal favorite writer of the show, which brings me to my next point. Where it stands lined now, series 5, after the heartbreaking departure of david for Tennant, one of the secondary writers for the show, Steven Moffat took command and jettisoned the show into a whole new atmosphere. Series 5. Who was my personal favorite. I'd love to hear what other fans of the show thought. Reason being, because the whole series felt like a fairy tale. In my opinion, it's the approach that works best for the show. Each episode felt like fantasy over scifi.

It's unlike anything else. The worlds the. And companions visit are so immersive. It feels like you are there with them discovering the vast wonders that cover them. The show has introduced some of the coolest concepts i've ever seen. Imagine a creature that takes the form of a statue, and only moves when you're not looking at them. Imagine that with every blink you make, it creeps closer and once it reaches you, you're dead. Imagine a mirror acting as a gateway to madamme de pampadours bedroom. These unique ideas only represent the tip of the iceberg.

Whether it's a corny looking alien, or just a really badly written episode (Did the doctor seriously just say "That's not possible? there are most definitely some bad moments. Episodes like love and Monsters, and partners in Crime won't go down as my favorites. Watch this one and you might get hooked. But ere are times when the show is so unbelievably good, that it's staggering. When Doctor Who is good, it's the greatest show on television, presenting moments that will frighten, amaze, or even rend your heart.

I shan't spoil it for nonviewers, but moments like the doctor holding the master in his arms, the final minutes of Silence in the library, and Tennants ultimate regeneration (It's not a spoiler. All doctors regenerate at one point) will go down in my history as some of the most impeccable things i've ever witnessed. This is thanks in part to problems the fabulous acting that drives the series, but also because of the shows ability to just captivate you, and immerse you in it's wonder. It literally takes you to new worlds, new discoveries and starts to make you think like you never have before. It's scifi, it's fantasy, it's drama, and it's even comedic at times.

No doubt a good actor, but i felt he had no charm to him. Eccleston would never stop smiling. All his scenes felt somewhat awkward, and uninteresting. That's just my opinion though. Known as perfect ten. Thankfully, through a staple of the series known as regeneration, the show was remedied when a man named david Tennant took on the role as doctor.

Ask any fan of the series and they will most likely tell you they loved david Tennant's portrayal. He made the doctor seem humane, displaying an incredible sense of emotion, and showing us with words just how tragic a figure the doctor. When david took upon the reins, the show grew it's legs and became a specimen unlike any other. Not only was his youthful nature just so refreshing, and fun to watch, but Tennant also impressed with his ability to go from one scene as a happy timelord to one as a broken one. His acting prowess is unbelievable and he'll be remembered in the show's history as "The perfect ten". But when i say the show is more then it appears, i mean so much more. Doctor Who is the kind of show that is unbelievably sporadic in quality. It's admittable that there are moments that are simply facepalm worthy.

My night for view, in my opinion, doctor Who is the kind of show that is so much more then it appears. Back in 2005, i was completely resistant toward. I had enjoyed shows like stargate that take a realistic approach on Science fiction. One look at an episode. Who and i immediately thought cheesy, dorky, and downright whacky. It took a couple episodes, but eventually the show grew. I wasn't in love from the start, and this was because i found the two main leads to be uninteresting. The doctors firs role was played by Christopher Eccleston.

For those that don't know, doctor Who is a british television show that's made history in it's almost 50 year run. After being off the air for a long time, it was ressurrected in 2005, and brought into the new generation with a whole new cast, characters, and tone. The show follows the adventures of a man named The doctor. He's a time traveler and the only one left of his race, the timelords. Each episode of the show focuses on the doctor and the companions he chooses to go along with him. They adventure through time and space, plan discovering vast new wonders of the universe, and making new friends and enemies along the way. They travel through a spaceship known as the tardis, a time traveling device disguised as a 1950's police box. That's the basis of the show in a nutshell.
